Scope and Purpose of Position:
The Senior Compliance Audit Manager acts independently, under direction of the Senior Director, Audit & Compliance, to lead the organization in developing operational disciplines and planning to successfully execute performance on regulatory-based and/or operational audits performed by clients and regulatory / government agencies and the resulting corrective actions plans. The Senior Compliance Audit Manager is a leader who collaborates with the functional owners to identify trends and opportunities to optimize audit performance and outcomes. The Senior Compliance Audit Manager works with management to respond to client audits completely and timely and to develop corrective action plans and monitor progress of remediation through closure; and to implement preventative controls that address deficiencies identified by clients / regulators, and internal audits.

Essential Functions:
  • Manage the facilitation of client and third party audits and assessments to include scheduling, internal notification, scope determination, and oversight.
  • Provide training to business representative who will participate in client and regulatory audits on presentation and communication requirements.
  • Oversee the management of corrective action plans, to include the quality and timeliness of corrective action plans, provision of required documentation, timeliness and sustainability of remediation efforts, and monitoring through closure.
  • Review external audit and corrective action plan deliverables as necessary to ensure compliance with client requests.
  • Manage the client audit and corrective action plan analysis reporting to internal and external customers.
  • Communicate with client representatives, client management, and those responsible for client deliverables to ensure well-executed external audits and corrective actions.
  • Support the GRC system for the client audit and corrective action plan processes.
  • Provide education and training to all levels of the organization regarding the client audit and corrective action plan processes.
  • Prepare and present updates, data and recommendations to managers and senior leadership on trends related to client audits and corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain policies & procedures/other documentation to ensure efficient operations of the client audit and corrective action plan functions and as required by the Compliance Program.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and other regulations and accreditation standards to support the understanding of internal and external requests and recommendations.
  • Support the development of a risk-based annual Compliance Risk Assessment and development of the Auditing and Monitoring Work Plan addressing key compliance risks.
  • Assist with completion of special projects, programs and requests, as needed.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Minimum of seven (7) year of related experience, including at least four (4) years in a supervisory capacity
  • Knowledge and experience in the insurance, health, or vision care industry preferred
  • Compliance or audit certification preferred.
