Under general direction, performs senior-level professional assistance for the newly formed Bexar County MAC Office, including working with approximately 500 panel attorneys. Flexibility to achieve performance excellence in a telework arrangement.Grant Funded

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Serves as subject matter expert, individually motivated and operating with a sense of urgency and personal accountability Assigns and supervises the work of other department staff, including two Administrative Assistants and a Data Analyst to include cross-trainingInterprets policies and procedures and makes administrative decisions as appropriateVerifies electronic records including caseloads of panel attorneys and ensure all are digitally retainedAssist in reviews of applications, renewals, and advancement of panel attorneysDevelops periodic performance reports regarding accounting, tracking of expenditures and procurements, voucher submissions, overall budget analysis, detailed financial reporting, correlating attorney qualifications to panel assignments and review of contracts for approximately 500 panel attorneysManages the preparation and onboarding of staff, correspondence, studies, forms, manuals, and publicationsNotifies court personnel of assignments and other activities of office to include review of Commissioners Court hearing notices and agendas for meetings and Commissioners CourtAssists in preparation of financial information for continuation of TIDC grants, as well as research and engage in other grant funding opportunities for indigent defense and holistic defense in coordination with Bexar County Budget and Finance DepartmentCoordinates calendars, meetings, trainings, and other activities for the Director and other senior level staffMaintain/Create a cooperative/effective working relationship with Court and County officials and personnel, community partners, the judiciary, the bar, the panel lawyers and clientsPerforms other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice or a closely related field, and five (5) years of operational or administrative experience, including two (2) years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMust be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointExperience in administration management working directly with the judges or attorneys within a law firm setting, public defender’s office, office of managed assigned counsel office, conflict panel office, or an office of similar make-up Skill in supervising professional and clerical employees; skill in managing multiple projects simultaneously; skill in communicating effectively with diverse groups of individuals utilizing tact and diplomacy Ability to adjust to rapidly fluctuating situations; ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, co-workers, County employees, Department Heads, Elected/Appointed Officials, outside organizations, attorneys, the news media and the public Must possess strong organizational and communication skills, as well as excellent computer literacy Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance Demonstrates technological intuitiveness Must clear a pre-employment physical May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweekWorking Environment and Physical Demands: Working conditions are in an office / telework environmentOccasionally moves items weighing up to 10 poundsOccasionally move about the office/ telework officeFrequently communicates with others using approved technological resources; must be able to exchange accurate information through designated systems within a timely mannerConstantly operates a computer and other office productivity machineryPositions self to perform essential functions of the job in an office / telework environment Must be able to remain in a stationary positionFlexibility to achieve performance excellence in a telework arrangementMaintains County-issued equipment, software, data and supplies
